Onion Vada / ullivada

 Ingredients

Big red onions (Bio onions) Sliced in rings     2 nos 

Chickpea powder                       2 Tablespoons


Rice flour                                    1 Tablespoon

Cornflour                                      1 Tablespoon

Ginger paste or ginger chopped    1 tsp

chilli powder                                1/2 tsp

Meat masala                                 1/2 tsp

Turmeri powder                            1/4 tsp

curry leaves                                     1 sprig

Asafoetida flour  (if you like the flavour)       1/4 tsp 

Cilantro / coriander leaves (chopped) 1 Tablespoon

Water enough for mixing all to a fine batter.

Salt ro taste

Oil to fry

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients to a fine batter adding enough water. Taste the batter and add enough salt. 

heat oil in a pan and fry the batter finely till it become golden brown.

Use a tablespoon to pour the batter into oil in portions.

Otherwise you can form the batter into thin round vadas and giv it into the heated oil.

Serve along with tea or coffee.  Tomato kechup or hot chilli sauce can be serves as a dip along with Onion Vada fry.
