Fish cutlet

fish cutlet with onion salad
Boneless fish filets ½ kg.
Ginger chopped 1 Tbsp
Garlic chopped 1 tsp
Green chillies chopped 4 nos
Onion chopped ½ cup
fish cutlet served with rice pulavCurry leaves chopped 2 sprigs
Garam masala ½ tsp
Pepper powder ½ tsp
Boiled potato mashed ½ cup
Salt to taste

All-purpose flour 1 Tbsp
Bread crumbs ½ cup
Eggs 1

Oil to fry

Preparation.

Steam or boil the fish adding as little water as possible till cooked and allow to cool.  When cooked mash the fish meat and remove the fish bones if any present.

Heat oil in a pan, add chopped ginger and garlic, green chillies and onion and saute well till golden brown. Add the mashed fish and salt and sauté for a few minutes. Now add the garam masala and pepper powder, mix well and saute till the water is evaporated.

Remove from heat and allow to cool.  

Add the mashed potatoes, mix well all together to a fine mass and make small balls out of it.

Beat the egg in a small bowl.  Now roll each fish cutlet in all-purpose flour, followed by beaten egg and bread crumbs.

Heat oil in a pan and deep fry till golden brown and serve along with dips or ketchup.
