Picadillo
is a south American preparation which is usually served with rice
Ingredients
Minced beef
1 kg
Olive oil 2
tbsp.
Potatoes
peeled and cubed 2 nos.
Chorizo 100
gram
Onion
finely chopped 1 nos.
Garlic
finely chopped 5 cloves
Chilli 1-2
nos. finely chopped
Tomatoes
chopped 250 gm
Bouillon
100 ml
White wine
100 ml
Cinnamon
powder 1 tsp
Cumin
powder 1 tsp
Cloves
ground 8 nos.
Nutmeg
powder ¼ tsp
Raisins 100
gm
Olive chopped
100 gm
Preparation
Heat oil in
a thick bottomed pan, add chopped onion, garlic, chilli and sauté it for 10
minutes at medium heat. Add the minced
meat and sauté well stirring occasionally.
Add the powdered cinnamon, cumin, cloves and nutmeg and join. Pour white wine and bouillon and tomatoes,
mix well and allow to simmer for half an hour on low heat with closed lids.
When done
add the chopped olives and raisins and allow to simmer for another 15 minutes.
Serve with
chopped cilantro (coriander Leaves) and lemon wedges.
Serve along
with rice.
