Fried
Potatoes with Sage Leaves
You may not find this dish in posh restaurants. But this traditional recipe satisfied the
hunger of many of our forefathers and is still delicious for a supper.
Ingredients
Small
potatoes ½ kg
Olive
oil 2 tbsp
Butter
1 tbsp
Shallots
50 gm
Garlics
a few cloves
Salt
and pepper to taste
Preparation
Wash,
clean and cut the potatoes into halves.
Heat oil and butter in a pan and add the sage (salbei) leaves and gently
fry on low flame till the fragrance comes out.
Add the potatoes to the pan and mix together.
Line
a baking tray with baking paper and spread the potatoes pieces evenly along
with the garlic cloves and shallots.
Preheat
the oven to 200°C and roast the potatoes for about 30 minutes or till the
potatoes reaches a golden-brown colour.
