Breadfruit
(Kadachakka) is a vegetable with carbohydrate, protein, vitamins and natural
fibre in abundance. A variety of curries and snacks can be prepared using
kadachakka(breadfruit). Here is a recipe
for breadfruit baji.
Ingredients
All-purpose
flour / kadalamavu 250 gms.
Red
chilli powder ½ tsp
Asafoetida
powder a pinch
Salt
to taste
Oil
to fry
Preparation
Remove
the outer skin of kadachakka/breadfruit and cut it into small pieces.
Make
a batter out of all-purpose flour/kadalamavu adding salt, chilli powder,
asafoetida powder and enough water.
Heat
oil in a pan, dip each of the breadfruit pieces in the batter and fry in the
oil till golden brown.
