Prawn Roast with spices (Chemmen Roast)


Ingredients

Prawns peeled and cleaned
500 gm
Onion chopped
3 Nos
Green chilli chopped
5 Nos
Ginger finely chopped
1 tbsp
Garlic finely chopped
1 tbsp
Red chilli powder
1 tbsp
Turmeric powder
1 tsp
Pepper powder
2 tsp
Cashmiri chilli powder
1 tbsp
Curry leaves
2 springs
Oil
2 tbsp
Salt
To taste
Lemon juice or vinegar
1 tbsp

Preparation

Mix prawns with half of the turmeric powder, chilli powder, lemon juice/vinegar and allow to marinate for an hour. Cook for 5 minutes it adding a little water and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan, add the chopped onion and saute till golden brown. Add chopped ginger, garlic green chillies and curry leaves and saute well. Add the rest red chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder and cashmiri chilli powder and mix well. Be careful not to burn the powdered spices.

After a minute add the cooked prawns to it and stir well to mix with the spices.
