Bhattura or balloon bread
Ingredients
All purpose flour

400 gm

Salt
|
1 tsp

Baking powder
|
1 tsp
|
Powdered sugar
|
1 tsp
|
Egg
|
1 Nos
|
Yogurt
|
100 ml
|
Hot milk
|
30 ml
|
Hot water
|
50 ml
|
Butter
|
As needed
|
Oil
|
For frying

Preparation
Beat the egg in a adding salt bowl. Mix the
sugar and baking powder and add to the egg. Add yogurt, milk, hot water and mix
together.Now give the flour in a bowl and add the yogurt mix to the flour and knead it to a fine batter. Knead it thoroughly till it becomes soft. If needed add a bit more water.
Add a teaspoon butter and form it into a ball,
place it in a bowl and cover it with a wet linen cloth and leave it for at
least 4 – 5 hours.
Knead the batter once more and make 10 balls
of equal size out of it or roll out the balls into 3 mm thin breads.Heat oil in a pan and deep-fry each of the bhaturas turning them on both sides.
