Rosti, the Grated Potato Bread

Rosti, is the grated potato bread recipe is very popular in the german speaking area of Switzerland. Traditionally it is prepared with Butter. But here is a Rosti recipe with reduced fat and calories.

Ingredients for 4 servings.

Potatoes 1 kg.
Eggs 2 nos.
salt and pepper to taste.

Preparation of Rosti.

Remove the skin from the potatoes and coarsely grate them using a grater.

Mix the grated potatoes with salt, pepper powder and eggs.

Prepare an oven tray with parchment paper.

Prepare two round Rostis of 11/2 cm thickness out of the potato mix and place them on the baking tray.

Preheat the oven to 150 c. And place the rosti in the oven and cook for 30 mintes. After 15 minutes turn the sides that both sides are cooked evenly.

After 30 minutes raise the heat to 200 c. And bake till the rosti reaches a golden colour.
