Pork belly chops

Ingredients 

Pork belly sliced in 1 cm. thick pieces 500 gm
Red chili  powder 1 tsp.
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp.
Salt 1 teaspoon 
Onions finely chopped 4 large
Ginger finely chopped 1 tablespoons 
Coriander powder 2 teaspoon 
Meat masala 1 teaspoon 
Salt to taste
Oil 3 tablespoons 

Preparation 

Wash the pork belly pieces thoroughly and squeeze out the excess water.  Marinate the meat adding red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt and keep aside for at least one hour.
Heat oil in a pan and lightly fry the pork belly pieces for a few minutes on both sides.  Add one cup of water to the pan close it with a lid and cook the pork belly pieces on low flame for 20-30 minutes.
Add more water if needed.

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in another thick bottomed pan and saute ginger and chopped onion till they become golden brown.  Add coriander powder, meat masala and salt, mix well and add the chopped tomatoes and mix well. Stirr well till all become a fine paste. Add water if needed.

Transfer the cooked pork belly chops to the gravy, mix together and cook for a few minutes stirring occasionally. Add salt or water if needed.  Remove from heat and serve alongside bread, appam, palappam or rice.
