In modern
days cooking, has become an art which requires a lot of practice and
experience. Chopping vegetables, cutting
fish and meat and garnishing and serving a plate requires a certain deftness
and dexterity of an expert.
But in day-to-day
life it may be helpful to know some tips and tricks which may ease our life in
the kitchen.
1. Slicing/chopping onions in rings or crosswise
reduces the time for sautéing it and adds more texture to it.
2. Adding a bit of salt while sautéing
onions will enhance the cooking.
3. Put boiled potatoes in cold water to
easily remove the skin.
4. Shake the eggs thoroughly before
boiling them to make them look yellow after peeling them.
5. To get crystal clear ice cubes boil
water before freezing.
6. To prevent bananas from over
ripening cover the stems with plastic folies.
7. Add spices like cardamom, cloves,
cinnamon and the like and garam masala at the end of the cooking to retain the
aroma.
8. To remove the bad smell of onions
from your hands after cutting them, rub them against a stainless steel vessel.
